    1. Annika, the worst part is this person was at the very front and bit it before they'd crossed the finish line, so now they're probably going to end up third at best. Talk about your heartbreaking photo finish!

    1. AlleyCat, yes, don't do this at the finish of your 10K this weekend. I do not recommend it at all. :-)

    2. Thanks Mate! Almost got tripped over 3 times by other people BEHIND me (catching their feet on mine!), but survived with out face planting. Sore heel & knee though....... :0(

  4. I think it's a beautiful picture. I'll need to print it and put it in a picture frame. I'll call it Boss.

    1. BlueGrumpster, I remember back when I ran track some of the most arrogant and obnoxious runners were sprinters. I'm not sure why, but it seems to still be true. Judging from the fact that all the runners in this photo apparently had to stay in their respective lanes I'd guess that this was a sprinting event. So, with that in mind, I suppose I can laugh at the fallen runner right along with you. But what a nightmare for her and her team!

    2. I'm sure she needed a drink and mayby - just maybe - something else. ;)

    3. BlueGrumpster, she needed an ice pack after a crash like that. ;-)

  5. Ouch. I've done that before, just not in front of a camera.

    1. JulieMaloney, I'm happy to say I've never done that. I have leaned across the wrong finish line before, losing the race because of it, but I have never fallen flat on my face right before crossing, thank God.
