Wordless Wednesday - Wank and Semen
Andreas Wank has been the most mocked Olympic athlete of these winter games, despite winning team gold in the ski jumping competition, due to his obviously funny name. Adding to his fame, a Twitter artist named 'Loony' Photoshopped his image and changed his name to Cunty Spunkfuckshitpiss. The modified image went viral, leading to a barrage of people posting it and asking "this can't be real, right?"
Followed closely behind Andreas Wank ins terms of being mocked, Russia's Semen Pavlichenko is receiving a share of laughter. And when Wank and Semen's images are combined the laughs never end. Poor guys. Well, one of them has a gold medal, so I can't feel too terribly sorry for him.

Now there is something very interesting about all those athletes clad in ultra-tight lycra or spandex or whatever it is. Very revealing. Had me (literally) glued to the television set. I'm quite a fan of Andreas Wank, also known as Cunty Spunkyfuckshitpiss. He can mount my piste anyday...
ReplyDeleteFannyLove, someone on Facebook posted Cunty Spunkfuckshitpiss on my wall and tagged him as me, so I felt compelled to go looking for who this person actually is. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that his name is Andreas Wank and he won the gold medal in ski jumping. The poor guy has come home from the Olympics with a gold medal only to discover that his face, now labeled Cunty, has gone viral and people are asking in all seriousness whether Cunty Spunkfuckshitpiss is really his name. Apparently a substantial number of people think its possible that he is actually named this.
DeleteWhat kind of person would think his name could really be Cunty Spunkfuckshitpiss? He can mount Fanny Love's piste.... Good one.
DeleteBlue, that's what I was wondering, how could anyone actually think, just because they saw it in a photo on the internet, that this guy's actual legal name was Cunty Spunkfuckshitpiss? But if you go to the Twitter page of the guy who created the image and follow all the references to it there is a steady stream of people asking "that's not really his name, is it?" and "is this real?"
DeleteHello Emile,
ReplyDeleteWell, this post has certainly brightened up an otherwise tedious display of skates, skis and slaloms which seems to be the order of the day at Sochi. Indeed, we really have no love of sport at all until, that is, Ludo or painting one's nails can be considered Olympic Sports.
We have found you via the delicious Fanny Love and have signed up immediately as followers in order not to miss out on any future posts. Should you be in the least interested in us, we are but a click away!
Jane and Lance, you are too kind to describe me as "delicious". I'm not as delicious as the pair of you, but thank you, I'm immensely flattered. And yes, Emile is very funny indeed.

JaneAndLanceHattatt, hello and glad to have brightened your day. I can't help but wonder what Andreas' reaction is to all this excitement about his face tied to such a name. I found him on Facebook, but I haven't had time to see if he's mentioned this or not. Plus, he writes in German so its hard for me to read. I'd really love to know if he thinks its funny or not.
DeleteI've had a good time laughing at all the crazy names I saw. Nice.
ReplyDeleteJulieMaloney, apparently the British are watching these games and taking note of every name that they think is funny. And one of them took it a step further and decided that 'Wank' wasn't quite funny enough, so he photoshopped it to something better and posted it to Twitter. Now people who follow his account are asking "is this real? Is that really his name?" as if they have suddenly forgotten that the person who created the image is a master of Photoshop and is constantly posting things like this as a joke.
